Exercise you lot recall the look I tried concluding calendar week that featured ruby-red lips and teal/dark-brown eyes?
I felt like doing it again today, simply this time I snapped a few extra pictures for a quickie tutorial.
After the mail service last week, reader Jenna left a great tip in the comments that I also wanted to try… She suggested adding some black eyeliner to ramp up the drama, and here's how it turned out:
Better, right? Cheers for the tip, Jenna! 🙂

The optics
- Start by applying a sparse layer of eyeshadow primer over your unabridged eyelid.
- Side by side, pat a thin layer of the flossy pearl eyeshadow onto the lid with a synthetic brush (constructed brushes seem to work meliorate when applying cream products) like the MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush.
- Using the dark brown pencil eyeliner, tap dots betwixt the roots of the upper lashes. So, depict a thick line all the way across the lash line; gently smudge the edges of the line with a MAC 239 brush.
- Still with the 239, pat some of your darkest dark-brown eyeshadow on top of the liner, blending the colors just barely into the pucker.
- With a MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush, sweep the warm brown eyeshadow into the crease.
- Apply the light beige or peach eyeshadows under your brow bone with a MAC 217 Blending Castor, and use the same brush to soften whatsoever remaining harsh lines.
- For an extra popular of colour, pat the teal eyeshadow over the chapeau and only barely into the crease with a MAC 217.
- Turn up the drama by cartoon a line along the upper lash line with the blackness liquid eyeliner like Jenna suggested.
- To emphasize the lower lash line while still keeping it soft, describe a soft line along information technology with a MAC 219 Pencil Castor and the golden brownish eyeshadow.
- Coil your lashes, and utilise 2 coats of mascara to both the upper and lower lash lines.
- Wrap it up with two layers of matte red lipstick applied with a lip brush (I notice them easier to control than tubes when I'grand applying highly pigmented colors).
Badabing, badabang! That's information technology. 🙂
So what was the highlight of your Tuesday?
Mine was bumping into my former boss from the literary agency in line at the post office. We caught up and made plans for lunch. Other than that, my day was blissfully uneventful. 🙂
